Since
first learning guitar as a teenager in the city of Puerto Ordaz,
Venezuela, Aaron's distinctive songwriting has evolved around a
self-taught, finger-picked guitar style and
deeply-introspective lyrics. As the son of missionaries, he
was frequently exposed during his youth to an array of Christian hymn
and choral arrangements, as well as Latin folk melodies and
contemporary rock songs. However, it was during his late teen years
that he discovered songwriting as a means to express the
struggles, uncertainties, and deepest fears found while pursuing a
life of faith. While these struggles have changed considerably as years
pass, his music still seeks to portray faith as it is truly experienced
- without pretense and without regret.
